The Oak Ridge Drive Book Club, Sept. 8, 2006
What a lovely evening we had! Great wine, lots of laughs, and connecting with readers. That's what it's all about!
Thanks! Yeah, they were great. Met some cool animals that night, too. Milo (an Italian greyhound), Max (LOL, a nice mixed breed dog), and Charlie (a butterscotch colored long haired cat who sat beside me for much of the evening.)
You've got it, Steve. Man, am I craving that. My agent's pitching Mazurka, the third in the adult Gus LeGarde series, but it's all in hopes of getting them hooked on the whole series, you know? That's the dream...
Looking at it from a more positive angle: you've sold three books and have seven for sale.
Good luck with the series. It sounds like the ideal way to build a fan base. People love to collect things, and they like to stick with familiar things, so a series based on the same characters sounds like a solid basis for success. It's worked many, many times before.
Then again, I know nothing about the mechanics of publishing. I just read the end product.

You with all of those lovely ladies. One couldn't ask for more, unless it's a multi book deal.

Looks like lots of fun, Aaron! Good luck with Mazurka!
Thanks, Jude! Meanwhile, I just keep on writing... that's how I ended up with ten books and only three sold!! LOL.

Thanks, Romulus!
Yes, sometimes it pays to turn things around. Much more positive that way! Take care!
